More information about the Independence Area
Mount Trashmore alone is an enormous benefit to residents of Independence, as it contains Virginia Beach's largest public park and the Kids Cove Playground, where families and singles alike can be seen playing and relaxing during the beautiful months of Hampton Roads' spring, summer, and fall. Virginia Beach Town Center also sits right around the corner, offering upscale shopping and dining opportunities and such entertainment venues as Funny Bone Comedy Club and the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.
The essence of suburbia but not too far from downtown, Independence provides the perfect balance of warmth, friendliness, and accessibility. Homes in these neighborhoods are traditionally brick ranch and often quite unique, each one a little bit different from the next. Nearby attractions include the Kempsville Greens Golf Course, Mount Trashmore and Kids Cove Playground, and Sentara Nursing Center.
